Let’s Both Have Some Fun at the Dog Park!
Hello, humans! As you may have heard, my friends and I very much enjoy trips to the dog park. They allow us the chance to make new friends, burn off some excess energy, and get some need exercise! However, a well-meaning trip to the dog park can quickly turn sour if certain rules and regulations aren’t followed.
First and foremost, keep in mind that there are some dogs who simply don’t make very good playmates. It’s no fault of theirs; sometimes, they just can’t help it! So please, if your furry friend has issues with aggression, we kindly ask that you take him or her elsewhere. Also, if you have a female dog in heat or more than three dogs total, it’s probably not going to work out very well at the park.
For safety reasons, please remove any pinch, prong, or spiked collars before entering the play area. We can play a bit rough at times, and we wouldn’t want anyone to needlessly be hurt. Also, please keep any glass bottles at home so we don’t have to worry about cutting our paws. Finally, there is no food (dog or human) permitted in the dog park. We’re very sorry about this, but we’d rather not have to deal with any potential issues stemming from food aggression and the like. Some of us get very territorial when it comes to any sort of food!
Finally, we need to talk about leashes. Obviously, you don’t want to have to put the leash on us, as it would ruin the point of going to the park! That said, you humans need to pay extra-close attention to us when we’re not on our leashes. The moment you notice any out-of-control or aggressive behavior, the offending canines must be removed from the off-leash area. We hate to draw a hard line like that, but the safety of everyone and everything in the park must take priority.
